About: I remember my first beer...actually, I don't. It was probably something horrible like a Coors light and I'm glad I've forgotten. My experience with beer has come full circle. Originally I gave up on beer because I thought it was all crappy lagers. One day in 2002, I happened upon a little deli called Hollingshead in Anaheim, CA that just happened to have a vast array of "crazy" beers on tap I had never heard of. I dug the look of the STONE IPA handle and tried it. My life has never been the same since. I was in love with hops, grains, and the amazing beauty of what beer can really be.
I love bold flavors and extremes. Belgiums and homebrewing my own beer.See Authors Posts (76) | Filed under: Beer Reviews

Name: Karl Strauss Stargazer IPA
Brewery: Karl Strauss
Overall Rating: B
Style: English Style IPA
ABV: 4.7%
IBU: 34
Serving Style: Keg, LAX Terminal 6
Appearance:Nice, clear copper. Small head.
Aroma: Smells malty with hints of flora hops.
Flavor: This is a good IPA. Not a slap your face HOPPY west-coast style IPA, it’s just a nice IPA. Citrus and flora hop tones mix with a nice malty balance. Reminds me of good English IPAs.
Body: Medium.
Enjoyability: I drank three 32oz glasses at the airport before catching my flight back to Cleveland, so I could not have been that bad. It was nice to have a GOOD IPA that wasn’t all about the hops. I’d recommend this to my buddies and even bonus buddies.
Another Take: Ba
