About: I remember my first beer...actually, I don't. It was probably something horrible like a Coors light and I'm glad I've forgotten. My experience with beer has come full circle. Originally I gave up on beer because I thought it was all crappy lagers. One day in 2002, I happened upon a little deli called Hollingshead in Anaheim, CA that just happened to have a vast array of "crazy" beers on tap I had never heard of. I dug the look of the STONE IPA handle and tried it. My life has never been the same since. I was in love with hops, grains, and the amazing beauty of what beer can really be.
I love bold flavors and extremes. Belgiums and homebrewing my own beer.See Authors Posts (76) | Filed under: Beer Reviews

Appearance: Beautiful rich, deep brown/copper. Amazing lacing on the glass.
Aroma: Strong ale/Barley wine smell. Caramel and toasted nuts come roaring through with a sniff.
Flavor: Bold, piney taste with tons of hops and fruitiness.
Body: Full
Enjoyability: I love barley wines. If I could only drink one style, this would be it. They’re always BOLD with high ABV and tons of hops. This is a particularly good barely wine and much better than I recall previous Bigfoots from SN. I plan to buy more at the reasonable $10 a six-pack before they sell out. Highly recommended.

I’ll have to give that one a try. Its nice to see Sierra Nevada non-Pale Ale’s being drank.
