Brasserie D’Achouffe Houblon Dobbelen IPA Tripel
Author: Escape To Beer | Filed under: Beer Reviews
Name: Houblon Dobbelen IPA Tripel
Brewery: Brasserie D’Achouffe
Overall Rating: A+
Style: Belgian IPA
Serving Style: Bottle
ABV: 9.0 %
IBU: (International Bitterness Units)
Price: $ 10.69
Appearance: The first thing that I noticed was that there was like a cloudiness to the beer, kind of reminded me to a heffenwiesen. Still you could see the carbonation happening throughout the glass. The color was not as dark as other IPA’s, this was more like a light amber color.
Aroma: Probably cause I like my hops but what I notices most was just that the hops. Nice smell to it. You could also notice the citrus hops.
Flavor: Great flavor. The hops explode in your mouth as they go down. A more mild taste to it from what you get in an American IPA.
Body: This beer had a rich full body. Nothing flat about it. A good bitterness to it with a slight taste of alcohol that was noticeable only at the end but nothing that would deter you from taking another drink. The carnonation was there but nothing too overwhelming.
Enjoyability: A good tasting beer that would be enjoyable in any setting. As far as what I would eat to accompany this beer? A good steak at your favorite steakhouse or some good sea food. Both would be well accompanied.
