One Second Commercial

Author: Gile | Filed under: News

I heard a radio ad on my way home today that High Life [aka Miller] will not be spending the $3 million to place an advertisement during the Super Bowl. Instead they are placing a one second ad. Can Miller really get people to want to drink more Miller with only one second? Does it cost a mere %50,000 like the math says?

This brings up another subject on advertising: Why don’t craft breweries advertise? Simple answer, they don’t need to. If their beer is good, then people will talk about it, review and pass it along. I have yet to see a commercial for a craft brew. I am willing to guess that if one does come out, it’ll be Stone Brewing Company.

Post in the comments if you agree, disagree or wanna tell me how I spelled “the” wrong.

UPDATE: I failed to see the one second commercial. Did anyone catch it? Was it all just a marketing prank? Sound off in the comments!

Perhaps a sign of the times, Miller may be feeling the crunch like us all. All of us that is except for the craft breweries that make premium beverages of course!

You can watch the proposed ads here. Kinda funny campaign but that’s what I would expect from a macro brewer that spends more money on advertising than on a good tasting product.

P.S. I think you misused the percent symbol in your third sentence of the first paragraph. Wiki tells us that “In mathematics, a percentage is a way of expressing a number as a fraction of 100 [Citation Needed]” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Percent

I suggest you review your posts for proper grammar, spelling, AND percent sign utilization before posting in thefuture.
