Name: Old Horizontal

Brewery: Victory

Overall Rating: A+

Style: Barleywine

Serving Style: Bottle 12fl oz.

ABV: 11%

IBU: Unknown

Price: $

Appearance: Dark amber with plenty of carbonation some cloudiness with some floaties. Head went away fairly fast, leaving an almost clean glass.

Aroma: Smells sweet with hint of alcohol content. I can almost taste the barley with a good whiff from this one!

Flavor: Initial taste is like an oaked taste with some bittering hops in there. Has kind of an alcoholy after taste but it doesn’t linger. What does linger is the taste of oak, barley and malts. The taste lingers but not too long, leaving you yearning for another drink.

Body: It is a full bodied ale with a good amount of carbonation. Not a lot of continuous carbonation while it is in your glass. A bubble here and there every once and a while.

Enjoyability: This is a very tasty barleywine. One that isn’t over powering on any one flavor or the alcohol content. I’d like to just sit and sip this but it too tasty to leave it sitting in the glass for very long. I do want to find this in a 22oz of this for the long term enjoyment and effects [especially the horizontal effect!].
