About: I recall my first sip of beer very fondly. At a very early age I was watching a baseball game with my father, and he noticed I was curious as to the colorful red and white canned beverage in his hand and finally offered me a sip. At that point I felt like I was a part of something special. As I was never able to touch those elusive drinks prior to that moment, I felt like a grown man, sipping the sudsy elixir with my dad watching sports on the tv screen.
That was a one time event though, and it wasnt until my teen years when I realized the magical effects beer can have at social functions. I became enamored immediately with the level of fun that can be had while drinking what I also had confessed was the most refreshing drink in existence.
After years of experimenting with every drink available to me, I have found my tastes and preferences have matured. Still, more so than ever I am driven by the quest to find the ultimate beverage. Though I know there is no such thing I am always trying something new to find my favorites. I enjoy variety, and also believe the only way to discover truly what you enjoy the most is by trying everything you can. Not only do you learn about the various styles and flavors associated with the many kinds of beer, but you also learn what you like as well as what perhaps you are not particularly fond of. There is a time and a mood for just about any style of beer crafted today, and the more you experience the better you are prepared to suit your own tastes.
I love beer, pure and simple.See Authors Posts (52) | Filed under: News

I came across an interesting article that pointed out the blatant lack of women friendly beer marketing. In my opinion, women have plenty of functional taste buds and would be able to enjoy a fine brew just as much as any guy, and it seems like we are just leaving them out of the beer community for the most part, or worse by offending them with inappropriate advertising. I think the only thing better than a fine brew, is enjoying one with the company of a fine lady that also appreciates the natural flavors only beer can bring us.
So if you beer loving ladies are out there feeling thirsty or left out, I welcome you all to corebrewing.com to share your opinions, experiences, and thoughts on anything beer related!

Nice post, I do agree.
Beer marketing to women is totally underutilized. Women make up to 25% of all beer drinkers, and that market share grows annually. But if we keep marketing beer as a man-symbol of fun, sex, power, or sports, we’ll miss that whole constituency. Show beer as framed in taste, sophistication or a sign of their independence or individuality, then you’ll have them.
Also, there are a lot of misconceptions about women in beer, and lot of misconceptions women have ABOUT beer as well. The best thing to do is to share some tasty brews with women – start friendly with hefewiezens and encourage them to keep an open mind.
And then, if you’d like, check out my blog, or http://www.beerforchicks.com and join the community of women beer lovers there. They have a lot to say on the topic.

I think the male dominated marketing has made many woman **THINK** they don’t like beer. I know more woman (sadly) that won’t drink beer because it’s too bitter or “gross”. How can anyone take a sip of a premium ale and call it gross? I think their minds are already made up before the beer hits their tongues.

We are also seeing a shift toward women in car advertising as well. Women like horsepower too, and some even like premium liquids as well!
I welcome females that actually drink more than just Coor’s light. I welcome women and men alike to expand their horizons in taste and culture, just as I have done in the past several years.
