Green Flash Stout

Name: Stout

Brewery: Green Flash

Overall Rating: A

Style: Double Stout

Serving Style: 22oz bottle

ABV: 8.8%

Price: $4.99

Appearance: I was quite impressed to see the dark viscous liquid pour out of the bottle, many talk of motor oil like stouts, and this stout made me think of such terminology. The head was larger than anticipated and I felt like a nub as it overcame the glass and some dripped over the rim onto the counter and floor, even from the goblet. That huge tan layer of bubbles got me excited. It fled quickly, though leaving a full layer of lacing around every square inch it came into contact with.

Aroma: Heavenly aromas of roasted malts are quite pleasing to the nose. Simple and delightful for a stout.

Flavor: Roasted flavor perfection was practically achieved as I sipped this luscious stout. Malts blend with roasty flavors and the finish is ultra smooth and rich. The 8.8 abv is not even detectable in this superbly balanced double stout.

Body: The full creamy head with such subtle flavors rests on your palate with ease.

Enjoyability: Truly a pleasure to drink for any lover of stouts, I would say this one is a must have if you have any inkling towards the stout style, as it is flavorful, rich, and goes down nice and easy at the same time. I savored every last bit as I decreed to myself that Green Flash has a true winner on their hands here. If anyone were to ask me for a stout recommendation, you can bet I will mention the Green Flash Stout as a worthy brew. Also worth of mentioning I was stunned that the price tag on my receipt was under 5 bucks. Wow.
