Envy is one of the seven deadly sins and unfortunately I’m guilty of that one too. You see, Migloor has been purchasing all the BLINGMan stuff and making my brewery seem a little too homegrown. Last night I tried to sate my envy by polishing up a used keg but alas after tossing and turning with visions of chrome in my head, I awoke this morning and decided that I would upgrade my Quatrro Effe.
What the effe is a Quattro Effe? Well, it’s my italian brewpot. Quattro is of course FOUR…but Effe? Google can’t translate it so I’ll leave that one up to someone else to translate.
So I decided to remove the coffee spigot that I never use anyway and replace it with a racking arm and 1/2″ NPT valve/barb. I headed to lowes and $12 later, I had all the parts needed to make this dream a reality. And the really good news is that I didn’t have to go back to lowes two more times like so many other plumbing projects of mine.
The rest of the story can be told with some effeing pics…
- Shined up nicely with BKF, but that silly coffee valve has to go.
- Quattro Eff Yeah!!1!
- Silly
- Silly coffee valve
- Upgraded to a real valve that I can actually use.
- Added a little pickup tube inside too. I might extend this out.
