About: My first beer was Budweiser. I was about 9 or 10, Dad and I were broken down and the side of the road and all there was to drink was Budweiser. So I had a swig of his, hated it!
I didn't drink beer again until I joined the Marine Corps. I was in Quantico, attending Small Computer Systems Specialist school, when I accidentally knocked a beer out the fridge and broke it. My buddies said now I gotta drink one! The rest is history. The broken beer was a Red Dog by the way.
Now days I am really a hop head that enjoys the IPAs [Stone IPA; Lagunitas IPA] and Douple IPAs [Moylan's; Hair of the Dog Blue Dot]. I also like Belgians [St Bernardus; Delirium; Three Philosopher's] a lot! I also like the Stouts and Porters [Black Butte] as well.
I enjoy going to breweries to sample as well as going to pubs and taverns. I also like enjoying beer with friends and bouncing ideas off of other intelligent people as well. Last time I was at O'Brien's I was shooting the shit with a couple of random strangers.
I hope to someday do a pub/tavern crawl across Europe. That's all I want. Simple.

Well it was time! Time to get the dang brew kettle. You’ve seen some of my fellow homebrewers post on thier conquests, so here is mine! I present to you the “Brewer’s Edge” 40 quart kettle:
Its got a pretty cool name! Plus it came with the ball valve for under $100 total. While I was at it, I went for the bottle tree for those extended cleaning and sanitizing sessions! Oh and by the way, it was only $19 and that’s with the fancy handle on top!
I originally set out to buy a case of bottles so I can bottle up my IPA that has been sitting for an extended period of time. Its in its treshiary fermenter at the moment. I got side tracked once I thought of the bottleing rack, then I really needed to get a brew kettle. I bought the burner a couple of months back and it hasn’t even been used! So what the heck! Done!

I am jealous. I’m getting tired of boiling only 3 gallons of wort. And I recently discovered that doing this greatly reduces the possible IBUs that your beer can have. Oh nos!
Where did you get your kettle?

Did you get an SS barb and some tubing to use the valve? Wort chiller??

Correct! I got all this from William’s:

I got a brass barb. I might not use it and just get a SS one from the Home Depot. I have 1/2″ tubing already. and I bought that 50′ of 3/8″ copper for the wort chiller at Home Depot. I think I am set!
