About: I remember my first beer...actually, I don't. It was probably something horrible like a Coors light and I'm glad I've forgotten. My experience with beer has come full circle. Originally I gave up on beer because I thought it was all crappy lagers. One day in 2002, I happened upon a little deli called Hollingshead in Anaheim, CA that just happened to have a vast array of "crazy" beers on tap I had never heard of. I dug the look of the STONE IPA handle and tried it. My life has never been the same since. I was in love with hops, grains, and the amazing beauty of what beer can really be.
I love bold flavors and extremes. Belgiums and homebrewing my own beer.See Authors Posts (76) | Filed under: Beer Reviews

Serving Style: Belgium Style 750ML, Corked

Aroma: Artificial banana tickles the nose almost like a bag of jelly-belly banana jelly beans. Hint of the funky bacteria comes through on a strong inhale.
Appearance: Cloudy, looks exactly like grapefruit juice when held to the light.
Flavor: Dry hop flavors are present. Bacteria astringency leaves a slightly medicinal aftertaste
Mouthfeel: Well carbonated, Belgium style. Medium body.
Enjoyability: Bacteria beers are not my specialty however, I’m intrigued by these styles because of historically this is what beer most likely tasted for much of humanity partnership with beer. This was a good sipping beer after a long day working. Would I buy it again, no. But I enjoyed it nonetheless.
