About: My first beer was Budweiser. I was about 9 or 10, Dad and I were broken down and the side of the road and all there was to drink was Budweiser. So I had a swig of his, hated it!
I didn't drink beer again until I joined the Marine Corps. I was in Quantico, attending Small Computer Systems Specialist school, when I accidentally knocked a beer out the fridge and broke it. My buddies said now I gotta drink one! The rest is history. The broken beer was a Red Dog by the way.
Now days I am really a hop head that enjoys the IPAs [Stone IPA; Lagunitas IPA] and Douple IPAs [Moylan's; Hair of the Dog Blue Dot]. I also like Belgians [St Bernardus; Delirium; Three Philosopher's] a lot! I also like the Stouts and Porters [Black Butte] as well.
I enjoy going to breweries to sample as well as going to pubs and taverns. I also like enjoying beer with friends and bouncing ideas off of other intelligent people as well. Last time I was at O'Brien's I was shooting the shit with a couple of random strangers.
I hope to someday do a pub/tavern crawl across Europe. That's all I want. Simple.

Stone 13th
Name: 13th Anniversary Ale
Brewery: Stone Brewing Co
Overall Rating: A
Style: American Strong Ale
Serving Style: Draft, 8oz
ABV: 9.5%
Aroma: Malty with some slight hopage.
Appearance: This one is a dark amber with a small head and moderate lacing.
Flavor: Hop blast right away! Lingering malty flavor. The aroma did not lead me to believe that I was going to get a blast that I got with that first taste. As I drank the first one and then onto the second one, I became accustomed to the 13th’s ways and it seemed to mellow out some with a rise in temperature.
Mouthfeel: Super full body, grainy and chewy.
Enjoyability: Overall a very good beer! This puppy is super powerful at the 9.5% and it lets you know. Its almost like the 13th is drinking you instead of the other way around. I had heard tale of the old Stone recipes that were big and powerful, is this a return to that? We’ll see. I hope Stone keeps up the good work on making big, powerful brews that don’t disappoint.
Another take: Amazing that anyone has had this since it was just released today: Examiner | The Full Pint | A C+ Review

I just had this bad boy last nite and wanted to share my thoughts..
Overall Rating: A++
Style: American Strong Ale
Serving Style: 220z Bomber
ABV: 9.5%
Aroma: predominantly floral and Pine
Appearance: Deep amber hues, good persistent head. With a good swirl of the pint the head builds up nicely.
Flavor: “Hop blast right away! Lingering malty flavor.” Best captures my experience.
Mouthfeel: Left my tongue coated! Delicious!
Enjoyability: I am a fan of the American Strong Ales (ASA) and this one might be the king. Im curious to now look into a ASA shoot out!
Incredible!
