Stone 13th Celebration

Well this past Saturday, August 22nd was the THE Stone 13th Anniversary Celebration. Sorry if you missed it or if you were out of your mind and went to the Del Mar Beer Fest that was the very same day. I heard that place was a ghost town in comparison.

My day at the 13th started out early with showing up promptly at 9:00am for my volunteer time serving sodas to the other volunteers, Team Stone employees, security guards, designated drivers and drunk people that really thought the Pina Colada was alcoholic. Classic! One thing I would like see worked out for the volunteers is the ability to have them drink beer. There was a lot of confusion as to who could drink and who couldn’t. Evidently, our homebrew club, The Society of Barley Engineers had a special arrangement for us to be able to drink since we were not serving alcoholic beverages. I was glad that was all sorted out by me taking off the complementary volunteer shirt and dawning my “vintage” Stone 12th shirt!

I had a great and exhausting time serving sodas. There was people that really did need some refreshment that were not drinking beer.
