Name: Kells Irish Lager
Brewery: Rogue Brewing
Overall Rating: A
Style: Irish Lager
Serving Style:22oz bomber
ABV: Im guessing 5% ABV
International Bitterness Unit: 28 (not bitter, almost non existent)
Price: $4.50 per 220z bomber
Aroma: Unobtrusive aroma, featuring floral and apple notes. Hardly a punch in the face, but pleasing
Appearance: Liquid sunshine, decent head, retention virtually non-existent. When poured out and the head builds up, it almost looks like a lemon meringue pie.
Flavor: Crisp lager finish, clean with a slight taste of citrus and apples at the end.
Mouthfeel: Light, clean and dry.
Enjoyability: Summer beer or good for crossing friends over to the world of microbrews. Drinkability is unquestioned here.
Awards:
2005 World Beer Championships—Silver
2005 Great International Beer Competition—3rd
2004 World Beer Championships—Silver
Taster’s Notes: For the times you’re not up for a hearty, chewy beer, this brew is very easy to drink, light and refreshing. An all day sipper – just make sure you don’t nurse this one, the lack of head retention and carbonation kills it. Best enjoyed cold and best paired with light foods. Citrus salads, light fish, mild cheeses. This is a great beer to help you convert your friends over to microbrew.

I keep seeing this beer and I’ve yet to try it. The guy is surely hitting the flootie and that alone makes this beer worth giving a shot. After you’re review, I plan to pick one up this week. Cheers!
