Posted this one right from the bar!
Name: Loose Canon Hop3 Alen Hop3 Ale
Brewery: Clipper City Brewing
Overall Rating: A
Style: American IPA
Serving Style: 23oz “tall boy” draft
ABV: 7.25% ABV
IBU:International Bitterness Units N/A
Price: $ 5.25 per
Aroma: Enticing floral and fruity aromas followed by some more herbal and flowery hops
Appearance: Beautiful cloudy copper tones, carbonation was OKAY. At first it had a nice head build up but sadly not persistent. With a decent amount of agitation you can bring the head back. Trace amounts of lacing..
Flavor: Smooth hoppy blast, lingering bitterness that would make any hop head excited.
Mouthfeel: Medium warming, body, with a dry clean finish with lingering bitterness.
Taster’s Notes: Hop heads looks for this brew. According to the brewer’s notes, he uses about 3lbs of hops per barrel to produce this bad boy. Any hop head would have to agree that this brew has great drinkability and does not disappoint the hoppy pallet!
Awards:Maryland State Governor’s Cup 2005 Competition
Brewer’s Notes:Our Heavy Seas line represents our highest expression of the brewer’s art. Each beer is bottled conditioned, intentionally leaving a small amount of live yeast in the package to naturally carbonate the beer. Bottle conditioning also adds subtlety and complexity, allowing the beers to evolve over time (within reason), not unlike fine wine. Each also represents a very robust style- usually in excess of 7% ABV. Grab one of these extrAARGHdinary beers and embrace your inner pyrate!
