Hitachino Real Ginger Brew

Hitachino Real Ginger Brew

Name: Real Ginger Brew

Brewery: Hitachino

Overall Rating: B++

Style: 21A – Spiced/Fruit Beer

Serving Style: Bottle 11.2 oz.

ABV: 7%

Aroma: Bold sweetness of the ginger, getting some aromatic spices as well.

Appearance: Clear, orange, amber with a full white head.

Flavor: I was thinking that this was going to be big and bold on the ginger. The aroma kept that thought process moving until I took my first sip. It is bold and sold and but the ginger does not overwhelm you. Ginger is there and it tastes very good. I am not a fan of raw ginger, but I like this Ginger Brew.

Mouthfeel: Carbonation is heavy with that nice, billowy head but it doesn’t bite the tongue at all. The bubbles gently tickle every crevasse of your mouth. There is a note of grain complexity there in the way it moves across your tongue.

Enjoyability: This isn’t my first review of a Hitachino brew so I knew not to expect the expected. Overall, I like this brew and will recommend that you try it too. Remember that Hitachino is from Japan and they have a different approach to beer. The change it welcomed with this beer connoisseur.
