Brewing Solitude

Brewing Solitude

Fire cracked and flames rose
while the water gained heat.
Natures elements are harnessed
to prepare for the feat.

The man stood by the kettle
as liquid brewed within
the hard steel outer surface,
much like his own skin.

Steam rose from the rim
as the man stared and thought
of the lessons in brewing
that he had been taught.

The time was upon him
to add to the brew..
The man stood ready,
as he knew what to do.

Brew after brew,
though thoroughly enjoyed,
was only once then gone,
the ongoing void.

The kettle sits empty
once brew day is done.
The man and the kettle
have both become one.
