Author: skotmigloorcloseAuthor: skotmigloorName: Site:http:// About: I recall my first sip of beer very fondly. At a very early age I was watching a baseball game with my father, and he noticed I was curious as to the colorful red and white canned beverage in his hand and finally offered me a sip. At that point I felt like I was a part of something special. As I was never able to touch those elusive drinks prior to that moment, I felt like a grown man, sipping the sudsy elixir with my dad watching sports on the tv screen.
That was a one time event though, and it wasnt until my teen years when I realized the magical effects beer can have at social functions. I became enamored immediately with the level of fun that can be had while drinking what I also had confessed was the most refreshing drink in existence.
After years of experimenting with every drink available to me, I have found my tastes and preferences have matured. Still, more so than ever I am driven by the quest to find the ultimate beverage. Though I know there is no such thing I am always trying something new to find my favorites. I enjoy variety, and also believe the only way to discover truly what you enjoy the most is by trying everything you can. Not only do you learn about the various styles and flavors associated with the many kinds of beer, but you also learn what you like as well as what perhaps you are not particularly fond of. There is a time and a mood for just about any style of beer crafted today, and the more you experience the better you are prepared to suit your own tastes.
I love beer, pure and simple.See Authors Posts (52) | Filed under: Homebrew
I have been brewing my own ales at home for about a year now, it has been a ton of fun and things are constantly evolving as I learn more about this great endeavor. One thing I find I am continuously dealing with is space! I can’t drink beer as fast as I can brew it (err, not all the time!), so I am usually waiting to brew my next batch until I have the space for it. I decided it was time to add another keg to my home system to help me resolve some of my inventory space issues, for now… Follow along as I highlight the activities that occurred here tonight:
With the "Rotten to the Core Red" at 1.019 (and after 2 days chilling), it was time to transfer to a keg.
I cleared the area to prep two kegs, it was overdue for the Nothing Special Bitter to find its new home as well.
Preparing the sanitizing solution after pre-soaking and washing. The transfer hose is in the bucket sanitizing as well.
The Red ale seeps into the first keg.
Time for the Special Bitter to slowly find its way.
I dowsed a paper towel with sanitizer to make a cover during the transfer.
I had to set up my CO2 tank for dual action with this distributor I picked up online, and some tidbits from the local hardware store.
I think the job came out clean, and now I can hook up a maximum of FOUR KEGS!!
After more sanitizing of all the gas and tap lines, I hooked everything up and adjusted the CO2.
At long last, DUAL kegs of Core home brewed ales in my fridge!!

Sexy points indeed! On many levels. First off, wonderful pics and arrangement. Great use of the gallery feature.
Secondly, I totally understand what you were going for with the distribution manifold now. Clean AND sexy. Looks great. I’m assuming good old Ace hardware came through with the 1/4″x1/4″ MPT? Those guys never fail….sure they costs 8 cents more, but they’ve got it all.
This was a major upgrade and a great way to celebrate your 1st year brewing anniversary. You can even brew 10 gallon batches and KEG it all now. Pure heaven.
