Shmaltz Brewing Company (He’Brew) – Bittersweet Lenny’s R.I.P.A.
Author: Escape To Beer | Filed under: Beer Reviews
Name: Bittersweet Lenny’s R.I.P.A.
Brewery: Shmaltz Brewing Company (He’Brew)
Overall Rating: B +
Style: Double IPA With Rye Malt
Serving Style: 22 oz Bomber
ABV: 10 %
Price: $ 5.99
Aroma: Hoppy but yet with some sweetness from the malty backbone.
Appearance: Beautiful red in color. A healthy amount of carbonation. A thick head when I first poured it into the glass and lots of lacing through out the glass.
Flavor: The flavor is a bit complex. From the bitterness of all the hops to the sweetness of all the malts. Something you want to slip slowly to enjoy them all. You do get some of the alcohol from the high ABV as a aftertaste but not too bad. Does not take away from the taste.
Mouthfeel: Nice smooth body. Goes down easy. Kind of syrupy too.
Enjoyability: I really like this one. If your a hop head, you will like it too. This brew had a hint of a barely wine style beer with but yet stayed true to the IPA style at the same time.
